We have a slight programme change due to a new addition to the Wild-screen event We are delighted that Katie Sanderson will respond to Wild-screen by creating a food project at the March event. Lunch and brunch will be available on Saturday and Sunday between screenings at a great price from this wonderfully creative culinary artist. On Sunday we will now commence at 12pm to fit in Sunday brunch.
Katie Sanderson has been working with food for ten years. She creates food experiences in spaces that are out of the ordinary. Disused warehouse spaces, gallery spaces, a wicklow rainforest. or derelict houses.
Last summer along-side her partner Jasper O Connor (The Dillisk Food Project) they converted a boat shed on the waters edge in Aughrus beg into a restaurant for the summer months. The project sprung from a mutual wish to spend a summer in the west of Ireland and to highlight the produce, the journey and the area for people familiar and unfamiliar with what it has to offer.
She is interested in the use of seaweed as a enhancing ingredient in recipes from the past and going forward. She likes to make vegetables the main focus and at Wild-screen she will create vegetarian dishes that respond to the wilderness of Connemara.
